Blu- The Narrow Path in stores NOW

As an MC, Blu gives hope for hip hop's next generation of wordsmiths.
Representing Bridgetown, Blu's street buzz has bubbled from performances
alongside Emanon, KRS One, Steve Spacek, Platinum Pied Pipers and Slum Village.
Rocking shows with veterans of the game has molded him into a force all
his own, gaining worldwide appeal and fans internationally.

Blu's first solo single "Narrow Path," is a telling of the trials an MC encounters
pursuing his dreams. It's a beautifully grounded track told through the simplicity and
intensity that only Blu can deliver. The flipside features the uptempo "Party of Two".
Exile laces both joints with solid beats to give a sneak preview of the power these
two talents have together. Blu's upcoming full length "Below the Heavens"
(dropping October 31, 2006) is produced by Exile and is aiming to raise the bar in
the hip-hop world.

Defari....August 8th.....

Oakland, CA – Los Angeles veteran rapper Defari is confirmed to release his third solo album Street Music Tuesday, August 8th on famed indie hip-hop label ABB Records, the same label that released his first 12” single, “Bionic” in 1997.

The first single off the new album is the Alchemist produced song “Make My Own,” featuring emcee/ producer Evidence of Dilated Peoples. “Make My Own” is off to a great start at radio with plenty of spins at KPWR (Los Angeles, CA), KDAY (Los Angeles, CA), KMEL (San Francisco, CA), KKFR (Phoenix, AZ), and XMOR (San Diego, CA) to name a few. A video for “Make My Own” is currently in production.

Since leaving the now defunct Tommy Boy label, Defari hit the ground running with countless number of collaborations, most notably his work on “Some L.A. N * iggas” featured on Dr. Dre’s multi-platinum release Chronic 2001. In addition to nonstop touring with acts such as tha Alkaholiks, Xzibit, Little Brother and Dilated Peoples, he recently partnered up with DJ Babu (Dilated Peoples/ World Famous Beat Junkies) as the Likwit Junkies and released their first album, The L.J.’s, to much critical acclaim in publications like the Source, Scratch, and Elemental Magazine.

Taking it to the streets, Defari’s vision for his new project began with the very people who supported him from the outset of his career. “I took the advice of my fans, and they told me my best effort was Focused Daily,” he says of conversations that led to Street Music. “So, I wanted to take it back to Focused Daily and turn it up times 20. That’s what Street Music is about. That’s where hip-hop began. That’s what I am, a hip-hop artist, and that’s what I’m giving them, a straight bang-out.”

Street Music is filled with unrivaled production courtesy of the Alchemist (Mobb Deep/ Nas), Evidence (Dilated Peoples/ Kanye West), E-Swift (Tha Alkaholiks), and Mike City (Jamie Foxx/ Sunshine Anderson) to name a few. Also lending their talents are Dilated Peoples, J Ro (Tha Alkaholiks), B Real (Cypress Hill), Tuffy (Channel Live), plus a few others.Look for Defari to take Street Music on the road this fall!

myka nine

As the wild card of the groundbreaking Los Angeles crew Freestyle Fellowship, which also includes Aceyalone, P.E.A.C.E. and Self Jupiter, Myka Nyne boldly went where no emcee had gone before with a style equal parts soulful singing, jazz-scat improv and rapid-fire roughhouse lyricism, redefining the art of freestyling as we know it today, dragging underground hip-hop headfirst into another dimension of possibility and showering rap with a number of classic songs in the process. A handful of daring but largely slept-on solo albums later, Myka is fresh for ’06 with Citrus Sessions Vol. 1, a 20-track musical manifesto to a world – and a talent – that just keeps getting hotter. New collaborators such as Mike Meeker (who contributes “Citrus District”, “Alive Again” and “Stay Strong”), Jeff Bhasker (producer of Game’s “The Documentary”, who comes with the beat for “Steamin”), Steve Doze (who offers “Tabloid”, “Picture Book” and “Me And My Girl”), Crown City Rockers member Headnodic (who drops in with “Viles” and Everybody Get’s Down”), DJ Exile (the man behind Mobb Deep’s “Pearly Gates”, who drops cuts on “Me And My Girl”) round out Myka’s circle on this release along with some of his longtime partners in crime like Josef Leimberg (who laces “Determination”, “Higher Water” and “Hollywood Jack”), Kiilu Grand, and the mighty P.E.A.C.E., who knocks heads with Myka over the thunderous “Viles”.

Citrus Sessions Vol. 1 is scheduled for an August 8 release on Citrus Recordings ( Myka will also be performing 14 dates on the WARP Tour this summer in prep for an early fall national tour which he will be conducting with a full live band, and a number of European dates into the final months of ‘06.
