In 2004, the ensemble participated in the opening season of the prestigious Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown LA, playing to a full capacity, cheering crowd. Now in its 6th year, daKAH is finally traveling beyond the LA city limits, with recent shows at San Francisco_s Palace of Fine Arts and the House of Blues in Las Vegas. The year 2005 sees upcoming shows in Austin, San Francisco, Scottsdale, AZ, and the Playboy Jazz Festival.

Sol Of Hip Hop & The Earl

Sol Of Hip Hop''s very own, The Earl has just released his 4th installment of funk and jazz inspired remixes of songs by Musiq, J-Live, & Tony Touch. His previous remixes have earned him much respect from the local hip hop community; so its not surprising that this album comes off proper. The Earl's version of Musiq's "Fortenight" hits you with so much soul in his composition of samples, beats and basslines that make you feel like you are in a smoky incandescent nightclub in middle of winter sipping on brandy to help keep you warm. Get your smokers jacket out, tap your feet, close your eyes and snap your fingers to the beat and let the Earl take you his world where musical enlightenment is 12 inches away. Common has been keeping busy since the release of Electric Circus. In 2003, he received a Grammy Award for "Love of My Life," a duet with Erykah Badu from the Brown Sugar soundtrack. His appearance on "Why (Remix)" with Jadakiss, Anthony Hamilton, Styles P., & Nas, garnered him a 2004 Vibe Award for Coolest Collabo. Common left fans hungry for more after he performed "Food" with Kanye West on the Chappelle Show earlier this year. The wait is almost over. Common is currently in the studio working on his new album, BE, with producer Kanye West. "The Corner" single is out now!! BE is scheduled for a May 2005 release

You deserve some BREAKS today

Welcome to the world of The Earl. A world characterized with dusty fingers, burning eyes, dirty pants and of course, uncontrollable sneezing. Diggin In The Crates has become a fad for some, but it is a way of life for The Earl. Each and every Soul Stax session on Sol of Hip-hop is The Earl's chance to share his view of society.

A world where vinyl lacquer and musical knowledge meld into a homage of times that are longed for and music was made with purpose. The Earl is truly a cat who is moving forward but is rooted in the fundamentals of the crates. So now, plug in, tune out, and allow that true musical essence grab hold and take you to the world of The Earl.
