Willy Wonka's Backstory

With only about a week left until the release of Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I thought I'd post this article on why he decided to give Willy Wonka a backstory.

"In the movie, Wonka flashes back frequently to his childhood with his stern father, a dentist played by Christopher Lee. "You try to work out your issues, but then you realize those kinds of traumatic issues just stay with you forever," Burton said. "Somehow they just keep reoccurring. No matter how hard I try to get them out of my head, they sort of stay there." Read more here.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in theaters July 15th. Visit the official Charlie and the Chocolate Factory website for more information.
