Subject Matter is a meshing of an art gallery and clothing store that creates a unique and inspiring environment of visual expression for local artists and shoppers alike.

With its monthly art shows, Subject Matter provides OC’s eager art and fashion community an outlet for creativity, design and inspiration. There, both popular and unknown street artists, art academics, and creative designers can showcase their unique works ranging from graffiti to fine art, and from creative to couture. The Gallery also boasts a current book selection covering contemporary street art, illustration, museum and gallery catalogs, handmade artists zines, design reference and photography.

As a boutique, Subject Matter offers sophisticated, classy, fashion forward men and women’s clothing that range from highly accessible to the high end. In addition to this, the store also carries a variety of accessories, toys and a selection of female shoes.

At Subject Matter, the aim is to create an adverse welcoming environment for inspiration by exposing the local public to the rich community of creative thinkers that live in California, in hopes to inspire a new generation of foreword thinking people.

On Saturday, May 7th from 6pm-11pm Subject Matter will be celebrating the grand opening of their new 2,700 square foot store with an art opening “Know False Paintings”, a fashion show with clothing provided by Nikita, Volcom, Ezekiel, Dragon & more, live music and giveaways.
